Together with the eastern half of New Guinea, PNG is made up of over 600 islands, the largest being New Britain, Bougainville, New Ireland and the Admiralty Islands to the north. The country covers an area of 1200 kilometers north to south and 2000 kilometers west to east, with a small population of around 7 million.
This is coral reef diving at its best with pristine reefs, many still unexplored, and an exceptional variety of marine life. What`s more, during World War II, the Japanese captured much of Eastern New Guinea and many of the relics of the war now lie beneath the waves to make fascinating wreck dives.
From the Black Jack B52 bomber of Milne Bay to the pygmy sea horses and mimic octopus, PNG has diving to suit all.
The 22 metre MV Febrina is an owner operated liveaboard working out of Walindi Plantation Resort on the northern shores of New Britain island.
