The diving in Indonesia is as diverse as the country itself and certainly some of the best in the world.

Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world, with more than 17,500 islands, and covering an area the size of Europe. As a result, the country offers an amazing diversity of flora and fauna, culture and geographical range. It is a country of impressive volcanoes, lush tropical rainforests, remote islands and friendly and colourful people. It sits where the Indian Ocean meets the Pacific, and here the warm waters collide with cool upwellings from the southern seas to create an unparalleled diversity of marine life.

This is tropical diving, a riot of colourful coral reefs, warm water, stunning macro life, huge schools of fish, pelagic species and the opportunity to see marine mammals, making it a favourite with photographers. The underwater scenery can be dramatic with caverns and walls but equally, much of the best diving is 'muck diving' in the black sandy bays where you may discover species of marine life you never thought possible!
