Scuba Addicts Lodge & Dive Centre
Perfectly situated for diving the Aliwal Shoal, the Scuba Addicts Lodge has an on site dive centre - so everthing is on your doorstep!
The Lodge is situated on the beachfront - all the rooms have private balconies with ocean views and there are miles of sandy beaches. They have two swimming pools where you can relax after your diving and lounge in the sunshine.
Restaurants & Bars
The restaurant overlooks the ocean and breakfast is served continental style with cereals, yoghurt, fruit, toast, fruit juice and tea or coffee.
Lunch and dinner can also be taken at the Lodge - or at any of the local restaurants. As a guide, lunches are around R50 and a three course dinner approx R160.
The swimming pool area is a great place to relax after a days diving ... enjoy a drink or take in the sunshine on one of the loungers. There is also direct access to the beach if you prefer a walk.
The lounge area has a TV and a choice of DVDs and the outside thatched 'chill out area' is nice space to enjoy an evening drink.
BBQ nights are a lot of fun and nothing beats the local steak with a couple of beers.
Daily excursions are also offered and transport is always available for trips into town or to local restaurants and shops - just ask.
The on site dive centre has a large kit-up area, rinse tanks, hot showers and kit storage area. Most divers favour a 5mm wetsuit, year-round, for Aliwal Shoal. Divers who particularly feel the cold may prefer gloves and a hoodie ... hire kit is available.
There will be a dive briefing on the night of arrival and in the morning after breakfast you can make your way to the on site dive centre. The dive team will be there to meet you and help with kitting up for the days diving. The gear will be loaded onto the 8m RIB and you will be transferred in your wetsuit to the launch site (2 min drive) in the 4x 4 vehicles.
At the launch site you will meet the boat and start your day with an exciting surf launch. There will two dives on the Aliwal Shoal, depth ranges between 15 and 30m depending on which dive site is chosen for the day (the dive site is chosen on the day so you get the best diving for the conditions according to the conditions). Once the diving is complete, then the dive team will take you back to the lodge to de-kit and enjoy warm showers at the dive centre.
