Pindito Liveaboard

The Pindito is a beautiful and elegant 124ft wooden Pinisi. The ship is superbly equipped and can accommodate a maximum of 16 divers. On board there is a dedicated camera room for charging and preparing cameras/videos. The vessel is very photographer friendly with a flatscreen TV and computer system to view and edit the shots of the day. There is a large comfortable saloon and plenty of outdoor shaded areas for relaxation.

 

Excellent local and international cuisine is served four times per day, including a pre-dive breakfast, main breakfast, lunch and evening dinner. Snacks and soft drinks are also available throughout the day and there is a well stocked bar.

 

Accommodation on board is in 6 double/twin cabins and two twin only cabins. All cabins are en-suite with individually controlled air-conditioning. Bathrooms have hot/cold water showers. Cabins are tended daily and fresh towels are supplied as necessary.

 

Typically, four dives per day are scheduled during the cruise and the diving takes place from three Zodiacs. All dives are lead by experienced Dive Masters and the crew are experienced in handling cameras. A thorough dive briefing is given prior to each dive and because access to the dive sites is by zodiac, great flexibility can be given to individual divers. Nitrox 32% is available.

Tasik Ria Resort, Manado

Overlooking the Bunaken Islands and less than an hour from Manado airport, the Tasik Ria is an excellent resort to relax and prepare for your adventure aboard Pindito. Please understand that West Papua is extremely remote and internal flights can be unexpectedly rescheduled. Therefore we deliberately allow two nights prior to embarkation to ensure you arrive jet-lag free and with adequate time to allow for any unexpected rescheduling.

The resort has a wonderful spa and swimming pool and there is an excellent 5 star dive centre. Dining options include a main restaurant, Pool Bar and a Sunset Jetty Bar. All rooms are en-suite with air conditioning, minibar, safety deposit boxes, cable tv, IDD phone and tea/coffee making facilities.

 

Within easy reach of the resort are a number of stunning areas to explore that include volcano trekking, white water rafting, Minahahsa Highlands tours, and visit to the Tangkoko National Park rainforest to see the birds and wildlife of the Sulawesi rainforests, including hornbills, macaques and the Tarsier monkey; at just 10cm it is one of the world's smallest primates.

The Raja Ampat Islands are situated off the northwestern tip of West Papua, formerly known as Irian Jaya. There are over 600 islands in the group, with the four main islands being Waigeo, Gam, Salawati and Misool.

This is a remote wilderness of breathtaking scenery with some of the richest marine life to be found anywhere. Our charter plans to visit all the top dive sites of Raja Ampat, also taking in some incredible land excursions exploring the impressive limestone cave systems and visiting the local population and experiencing their unique culture.

Sat 23 Oct:   Depart Singapore at 0925hrs for flight to Manado, arriving 1305hrs. Transfer to Tasik Ria hotel for 2nts accommodation.
Sun 24 Oct:  Free time to relax with option to dive or take one of many land excursions available, including volcano trek, white water rafting or a hike through the Tangkoko Nature Reserve
Mon 25 Oct:  Depart Manado for Sorong at 1105hrs, arriving 1355hrs, and transfer to Pindito for 11nts
Tue 26 Oct:   Full day of superb diving around Misool, with exciting drop-offs, overhangs and grottos
Wed 27 Oct:  Full day of ‘critter diving’ around Fabiajet islands
Thu 28 Oct:   First of two full days diving the stunning island of Wayl Batan with it’s beautiful reefs
Sat 30 Oct:    Full day excursion into the island labryinth of Misool with land visit to the stunning caves
Sun 31 Oct:   First of two days diving the superb Waigeo Island with land visit to a local pearl farm
Tue 02 Nov:   Full day diving the rich and colourful reefs of Jef Fam, where you can see wobbegong and epaulet sharks, unique to this region
Wed 03 Nov: Channel diving between Waigeo and Batanta Island with the chance to see manta rays
Thu 04 Nov:   Full day diving the wonderful sites of Kri and Sardinriff. Evening Captains Party on board
Fri 05 Nov:     Transfer to Sorong for 0915hrs flight to Manado, arriving 1005hrs. Transfer to Tasik Ria for 1nt

The guide price for the above trip is GB £2995 per person plus international flights.

Excluded: Nitrox for whole cruise US$180pp (must be pre-booked/pre-paid). Park Fees US$70pp. Visa on arrival into Indonesia US$25pp. Above Singapore Airlines flights are expected to cost from £450pp plus taxes (approx £265).

Domestic Manado to Sorong air tickets are not purchased by the ground operators until approximately 8-12 weeks before your departure. As such, it is possible that the price of your domestic flight may change from the date you make your final payment to Scuba Tours Worldwide and your actual trip. If this is the case, Scuba Tours Worldwide will make every effort to notify you in advance. The difference in airfare would then be added to your onboard tab that will be settled at the end of your trip. Luggage allowance on the Manado to Sorong flights is 15kgs with excess weight charged at approx US $2 per kilo each way.
