THE NEW MALDIVES - Pioneering the remote Far South & Far North
The Remote Far North | The Equatorial Zone - The Far South | Back to News & Specials Page |
Following on from the success of our years of exploring the far north and the far south, we are once again offering our customers the unique chance to dive these incredible remote regions of the Maldives.
The Remote Far North
From Male we will fly you over the beautiful atolls of the Maldives some 300 miles to our base at Hanimaadhoo. From there, Sea Queen will be waiting to take you on a wonderful safari of this beautiful and remote region of the Maldives. Between January and April it is high summer in the Far North, and the seas are calm and the skies blue. The diving is outstanding - with wonderful visibility, unspoilt reefs and tons of fish, including all the pelagic action that one expects from the Maldives mantas and sharks.

With only 12 divers on board, and the Sea Queen crew known for their pioneering sense of adventure, you can be sure of seeing only fish when you dive - and plenty of them. So get away from the crowds, call us and speak to our knowledgeable staff and book your next trip on the Sea Queen to the Far North.
The trips will run back-to-back with domestic flights linking the sailings. We will explore all the major atoll groups cruising Noonu, Shaviyani, Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu. In past trips we have encountered wonderful manta points, mass pods of dolphins, thrilling shark diving and some excellent wrecks.

The Equatorial Zone - The Far South
From May to August Sea Queen and Sea Spirit will be offering 13 night trips based in the equatorial southern-most atolls of Huvadhoo and Addu Gan. The safaris will take in the best of the diving in Addu Gan Atoll and venture across the Equator into the beautiful and remote Huvadhoo Atoll.

During these months the weather on the equator is calm and offers fantastic diving opportunities. The reefs are pristine with superb coral cover. Highlights are the exciting channels of Huvadhoo Atoll where large schools of grey reef sharks, eagle rays and jack fish swarm. Addu Gan Atoll, 45 miles to the south, again offers fantastic channels and has some amazing tillas. We have discovered many new exciting dive sites and continue to discover more. We have manta points - so don’t think you’ll miss out on these wonderful creatures!

Addu Gan also offers the opportunity to dive the 5,583 tonne ship wreck of the “British Loyalty” twice torpedoed and sunk by the actions of the Japanese in WWII. Now resting in 35m of tropical water in Addu Gan Atoll, south of the Equator, it is a superb wreck to dive.
