Introduction to Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa
Vilamendhoo is a small, oval shaped island resort that lies between two channels in the southern part of Ari Atoll. It is 900m long and just 250m wide with a beautiful sandbank on the western side, a white sandy beach all around, and a turquoise-blue lagoon. This is an island for keen divers, it has an excellent house reef as well as superb dive sites nearby that can be accessed by boat.

Accommodation
Accommodation on Vilamendhoo is spread all around the island and there are 4 room types. All rooms feature tropical décor, a king size or two twin beds, tile or wood floors, private patio with furniture, air-conditioning, overhead ceiling fan, sitting area, stocked minibar with refrigerator, tea/coffee machine, IDD telephone, colour cable TV, broadband internet service, personal safe, en-suite partially open-air bathroom with rain shower, bath accessories, hair dryer, and nightly turndown service.
Garden Rooms: There are 13 Garden Rooms (55 sqm) located in 4 or 5 room blocks. Each room has a four poster bed, tiled floor, sundeck, and offer a lovely view of the tropical gardens.

Beach Villas: There are 111 Beach Villas located on the island situated along the beachfront. The Beach Villas are spacious (55sqm) individual wooden bungalows with a large bedroom with four poster bed and seating area, partially open-air bathroom with twin sinks and a small tropical garden. There is a private sundeck to the front of each villa with beautiful views of the lagoon.

Jacuzzi Beach Villas: The 30 individual Jacuzzi Villas offer more living space (65sqm) with wooden floor, an iPod docking station, a private, walled-in outdoor area featuring a Jacuzzi for two “under the stars”. To the front of the villa there is a wooden sundeck complete with chaise lounges and shade umbrella.

Jacuzzi Water Villas: There are 30 Jacuzzi Water Villas on Vilamendhoo located on the water, over the sparkling lagoon. Reached by jetty, the 85sqm secluded hideaways feature a large bedroom space with wooden floor, iPod docking station/sound tower, and tea/coffee/espresso machine. Each villa has a privately walled in, partially open-air bathroom, with double sinks and a Jacuzzi for two “under the stars”. To the front of the villa there is a private wooden sundeck with stunning views out to sea complete with chaise lounges, shade umbrella, tropical plants and private steps leading down into the lagoon.

Restaurants & Bars
Vilamendhoo offers it's guests various options for dining. There are two main restaurants featuring the same 'all you can eat' buffet style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Funama Restaurant is for guests staying in the Garden Rooms and Beach Villas, and the Ahima Restaurant is for guests staying in the Jacuzzi Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Water Villas
There is also the option to dine in one of the island's à la carte restaurants. The Asian Wok Restaurant is situated over the clear lagoon and specializes in Asian cuisine and Teppanyaki dishes. There is also the Hot Rock Restaurant, situated by the Sunset Bar and pool deck, featuring a selection of seafood, steak and chicken dishes cooked at your table on “hot rocks”. In addition, there are snacks available in the bars, private room service, or a choice of special dinners served on the Beach!

There are several bars on Vilamendhoo. The main bar on the island is The Bonthi Bar, situated on the beach beside the Funama Restaurant. There is also a Sports Bar offering table tennis, billiards, snooker, table soccer, darts, chess, board games, and a satellite TV showing coverage of international sporting events. The Sunset Bar is located by the Ahima Restaurant and is for guests of age 18 years and older. Over the turquoise lagoon is the Asian Wok Bar, and the eastern end of the island the Boashi Bar, located beside the Boashi Bar Pool.
Excursions & Entertainment
Vilamendhoo has a vast range of facilities and has something to offer everyone. In addition to beach volleyball and badminton, there is a floodlit tennis court, a fully equipped gym, and two swimming pools.

Watersports on the island include an excellent windsurfing and sailing centre that offers instruction for beginners and rental equipment for the experienced. Kayaking and excursions to local and uninhabited islands are available as well as scenic seaplane flights to photograph the stunning islands and reef systems. Board games are available and there is also an internet cafe, library and souvenir shops.

The Duniye Spa: Vilamendhoo has a wonderful spa, situated in an isolated water villa complex, built over the clear, turquoise lagoon. A wide range of beauty and massage treatments are available daily.
Diving
The dive centre on Vilamendhoo is run by the excellent Euro-Divers and there are some fantastic dive sites nearby, as well as the resort's superb house reef. The PADI 5-Star centre employs highly qualified multi-lingual staff and a full range of dive courses are offered, from beginner to assistant instructor. Nitrox is offered free of charge to certified divers.

Travel Information
If you are travelling through or from the UK we can arrange flights on either award winning Emirates Airlines or Sri Lankan Airlines at very competitive fares. Emirates have a flexible schedule of departures on most days of the week from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow via Dubai. Sri Lankan airlines offer direct flights from Heathrow on certain days of the week and flights via Colombo at other times. If you would like to arrange your own flights, we can quote you a rate for your island accommodation that excludes flights.
