Introduction to Robinson Club Maldives

Robinson Club Maldives is one of just two resorts in the remote Huvadhoo Atoll in the far south of the Maldives, just 60km north of the Equator. Newly opened in December 2009, Robinson Club Maldives is a stunning resort, just 300m x 600m, fringed by soft white powder beaches and swaying palms, and surrounded by an easily accessible and excellent house reef.

 

A wealth of unobtrusive activities are available to those wishing to fill their days, including a gallery for painting and photography classes, fully equipped gymnasium, watersports and dive centre, and a beautiful spa. Huvadhoo Atoll has some stunning diving with beautiful corals. This is an excellent resort choice for those seeking a high level of comfort and service, in a relaxed and beautiful setting, while offering great snorkelling and diving.

Accommodation

Garden Bungalows: There are 26 Garden Bungalows, situated within the island among rich vegetation. The spacious 65sqm rooms are elegantly furnished with a king size bed, living area with sofa, coffee table and chairs, large partially open-air bathrooms, front terrace area with loungers. Facilities in the room include air-conditioning, ceiling fan, safety deposit box, TV, telephone, mini bar, and hair dryer.

 

Beach Bungalows: Situated along the beachfront on the northern side of the island are the Beach Bungalows. These spacious rooms offer 71sqm of living space with large double bed, coffee table and chairs, sofa, and large semi open-air bathroom. At the front of the villas there is a large deck area with sun loungers. Facilities in the room include air-conditioning, ceiling fan, safety deposit box, TV, telephone, mini bar, and hair dryer.

 

Beach Villas: Situated along the beach on the southern area of the island are the Beach Villas, very similar to the Beach Bungalows but slightly larger at 77sqm. As with all accommodation types on the island the rooms are beautifully furnished with a large double bed and very spacious living area, complete with sofa, coffee table and chairs. To the rear of the villa is a large semi open-air bathroom and, at the front, a deck area with loungers. Facilities in the room include air-conditioning, ceiling fan, safety deposit box, TV, telephone, mini bar, and hair dryer.

 

Lagoon Villas: The 24 luxurious Lagoon Villas are built on stilts, situated over the sparkling lagoon on the north-west side of the island. Beautifully finished, the Lagoon Villas of comprise a main living area with large four poster bed, sofa, writing desk, large dresser, and a coffee table and chairs positioned over a large glass panel floor, offering stunning views to the water below. Floor-to-ceiling windows, and large double French doors, lead out to a broad private sundeck, complete with table and chairs, sunloungers, daybed and private jacuzzi tub. Steps to the side of the sundeck lead down to the water below.

 

Lagoon Suite: At the far end of the walkway is the Lagoon Suite. Offering the height of luxury this expansive suite contains two en-suite bedrooms with separate living area and a large glass observation panel. The huge private deck is complete with sunloungers, table and chairs, jacuzzi tub, and a private plunge pool and there are steps that lead down to the water below. Facilities in the rooms include air-conditioning, ceiling fan, safety deposit box, TV, telephone, mini bar, and hair dryer.

 

Restaurants & Bars

There are two restaurants on Robinson Club and four bars offering a superb choice of dining experiences and in-villa dining is also offered. The main restaurant has been designed to create a friendly and social environment, where guests can enjoy a sumptuous breakfast from the large buffet and choose from the various speciality coffees and teas on offer. The lunchtime and evening buffets offer a huge choice of tempting international and local dishes and wine, beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee are provided with meals as part of your holiday package.

 

The a la carte restaurant offers succulent fresh seafood dishes, together with a broad a la carte menu playing on fusion recipes and local produce.

 

The Main Bar is a perfect place to relax with an aperitif or refreshing cocktail while listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean. It's the ultimate way to unwind after a perfect island day. Light music and entertainment is offered in the main bar during the evenings, sometimes performed by the Robinson Club team.

 

The large swimming pool to the side of the main bar also has its own small Pool Bar, built into the swimming pool, allowing guests to swim directly up to the bar to enjoy a cool beer or cocktail. On the north-western tip of the island is the Beach Bar, a perfect place to relax and watch the glorious sunsets. The beach bar offers a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as a choice of light snacks for lunch.

There is also the Piano Bar, a relaxed and friendly area accompanied by live piano music. On offer are a fine selection of wines, cognacs, liqueurs and cigars.

Excursions & Entertainment

The Robinson Club has an extensive range of water sports on offer. Surfers and sailors can choose from the surf boards and catamarans available for hire. Even beginners can take to the waves by taking part in catamaran or surf courses, given by professional instructors. The location is also ideal for kitesurfing, not only for beginners but also for those with more experience. The fine white sand of the beaches is a dream particularly for beach volleyball players and anyone wishing to take up the sport.

 

For those wishing to truly relax, the WellFit spa offers numerous mind and body courses including pilates and yoga, and group fitness courses such as Step, Dance and Aqua-Fit. The generous sauna section and various treatment rooms, each with their own whirlpool and garden oasis, are perfect for inducing true relaxation.

Discovery tours through the islands and the underwater world of the southern Maldives are available and include trips across the Equator and back again! The fish-rich waters are ideal for deep sea fishing trips, and excursions to uninhabited and local islands are also scheduled most days.

Diving

The Robinson Dive Center offers divers the opportunity to explore virtually untouched coral reefs that are full of life. Varying from just 20 - 200 metres distance from the Club is an impressive house reef, with stunning hard corals and prolific fish life. The fully equipped dive centre offers nitrox and scheduled boat dives to a range of sites. Huvadhoo Atoll has some of the finest unspoilt coral reefs to be found anywhere. For those new to diving, or wishing to extend their training, the dive centre offers an extensive range of courses - from PADI Open Water to Divemaster plus Speciality courses.

 

Travel Information

If you are travelling through or from the UK we can arrange flights on either award winning Emirates Airlines or Sri Lankan Airlines at very competitive fares. Emirates have a flexible schedule of departures on most days of the week from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow via Dubai. Sri Lankan airlines offer direct flights from Heathrow on certain days of the week and flights via Colombo at other times. If you would like to arrange your own flights, we can quote you a rate for your island accommodation that excludes flights.
