Nestled amidst tropical vegetation and shaded by graceful palms, is Olhuveli Beach Resort & Spa. Accommodation
Deluxe Rooms: The Deluxe Rooms are in stylish blocks of four facing the beach and each room has a terrace or balcony overlooking the beach and the lagoon. All rooms are comfortably furnished and equipped with ceiling fan, air-conditioning, mini bar, IDD telephone, safe, satellite television, four poster bed, sitting area and a writing desk. The en-suite bathrooms are spacious and include hot/cold water, hairdryer and toiletries.
Beach Villas: There are eight individually appointed Beach Villas situated along the beachfront. All rooms are equipped with ceiling fan, air-conditioning, mini bar, IDD telephone, safe, satellite television, king size bed, sitting area, writing desk and a separate dressing area with full length mirror. The en-suite bathroom is large with an open air enclosed courtyard for maximum privacy. Bathroom amenities include an open air bathtub, hot/cold water, hairdryer and toiletries. Double glass panelled doors lead out to a large timber deck, which overlooks the beautiful beach and lagoon. The rooms are luxuriously furnished with custom made teak furniture and lightings.
Deluxe Water Villa: The Deluxe Water Villas offer superb accommodation and amidst the beautiful furnishings, guests will find an array of luxury amenities including air-conditioning, ceiling fan, room safe, mini bar, tea/coffee making facilities, spacious sitting area with custom made teak furniture, four-poster king size bed, IDD telephone, writing desk, satellite television and CD player. A luxury en-suite bathroom offers all amenities including toiletries, bathtub, bidet, hair dryer and hot/cold water. The Villas come with an extended deck overlooking the lagoon with chaise lounges for private sunbathing, and a swim-up platform, which provides direct access to the lagoon via private stairs.
Jacuzzi Water Villas: There are thirty two Jacuzzi Water Villas and these offer the same facilities as the Deluxe Water Villas with the addition of a beautiful Jacuzzi situated on the large and private sundeck, which extends over the clear lagoon
Honeymoon Water Villas: There are five magnificent Honeymoon Water Villas on the island. Offering the same facilities as the Jacuzzi Water Villas, the Honeymoon Water Villas have an additional separate living room with glass panelling on three sides offering stunning views over the lagoon. On the private sundeck there is also a private steam cubicle.
Presidential Water Suites: There are just two of these exclusive suites, offering the height of luxury for those seeking top-end accommodation. Situated past the water villas at the far end of the walkway , where the two footbridges meet, the suites offer complete privacy and an un-paralleled view. The spectacular glass walled living room provides stunning views of the surroundings. The Suites are fitted with the finest furnishing and amenities, combining modern design classics and traditional Maldivian architecture. Each suite comprises 2 king-size bedrooms with fourposter beds, a luxury en-suite bathroom with designer amenities and a kitchenette. Outside on the double leveled timber deck is a private plunge pool, open air Jacuzzi and chaise lounges. A staircase from the second level, leads into the lagoon below.
Restaurants & Bars
The Sunset Restaurant: This is the main restaurant on Olhuveli, situated over the water with a large open-air sundeck. The restaurant offers a wide choice of local and international cuisines served buffet style for breakfast, lunch and evening dinner.
The Lagoon Restaurant: The Lagoon Restaurant is an a la carte restaurant serving anything from light snacks to full 3-course romantic dinners. A peaceful and tranquil setting, the restuarant outdoor decking area is a perfect location in which to catch the magnificent Maldivian sunsets. The a la carte menu is available 24 hours and private beach dining at any selected corner of the resort can also be requested.
Sakura Restaurant: This is the a la carte Japanese Restaurant, located to the south of the island and serving a range of delicious Japanese snacks and meals for lunch and evening dinner. Lunch is available between 12:00 – 14:30 and evening dinner from 19:00 - 22:30.
Lagoon Bar: Situated by the jetty opposite the Sunset Restaurant, the Lagoon Bar is the main bar on the island housing a weekly schedule of entertainment. It offers inside and outdoor seating on a large wooden decking, stretching out over the crystal clear waters. The Lagoon Bar offers the best seat in the house for watching truly magnificent Maldivian sunsets. Open from morning till midnight - or until the last guest leaves - the Lagoon Bar serves a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, beers, wines and spirits.
Dhoni Bar: The Dhoni Bar is situated by the infinity swimming pool serving exotic alcoholic fruit cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, light BBQ Grille snacks and ice creams throughout the day. Facing west, this is a wonderful place to relax and view the golden sunsets.
Sunrise Pool Bar: Located amongst the palm trees around the main swimming pool area on the eastern side of the island, the Sunrise Bar is the perfect location in which to catch the first rays of a breathtaking sunrise, and to spend the day lazing around the pool. At the rear of the bar there is a recreation centre, open from morning till midnight, complete with gymnasium, billiards, badminton, tennis, table tennis and a private karaoke lounge.
Excursions & Entertainment
Olhuveli has a wide range of facilties and entertainment available to guests. In the centre of the island there is a floodlit tennis court and a badminton court and other activities include snooker/billiards, table tennis and volleyball. There are also two beautiful infinity pools to relax away your day.
Water Sports: The vast sheltered lagoon is perfect for water sports and a well equipped centre offers a range of activities, including catamaran sailing, surfing, kite surfing, windsurfing, water skiing and wake boarding.
The Spa: Olhuveli has a beautiful Spa offering a full range of beauty treatments and massages. The spa area has a sauna, steam bath, and a fully equipped Gymnasium.
Diving
Olhuveli has an excellent dive centre with access to a wide variety of fantastic dive sites around South Male Atol. The Sun International Diving School company are well established, with dive centres on many resorts in the Maldives, and they offer a full range of PADI dive courses from Discover Scuba through to Diivemaster.
Travel Information
If you are travelling through or from the UK we can arrange flights on either award winning Emirates Airlines or Sri Lankan Airlines at very competitive fares. Emirates have a flexible schedule of departures on most days of the week from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow via Dubai. Sri Lankan airlines offer direct flights from Heathrow on certain days of the week and flights via Colombo at other times. If you would like to arrange your own flights, we can quote you a rate for your island accommodation that excludes flights.
