Introduction to Kuredu Island Resort
A lively all-inclusive resort, well known for its nightlife, Kuredu offers a wide range of sports facilities and entertainment with a choice of bars and restaurants. It has a great swimming pool and the island’s turquoise lagoon is shallow and perfect for watersports. Accommodation
Kuredu offers several types of accommodation, from budget to luxury, spread around the large island with dedicated restaurants and bars to serve each area. All rooms come with air-conditioning and ceiling fan, CD player, tea/coffee making facilities, minibar, safe, and telephone as standard, with additional features in the higher category rooms.
Bonthi Garden Bungalows & Beach Bungalows: These are individual rooms, located on the north-east side of the island. All rooms are comfortably furnished with rattan furniture and have a spacious open-air bathroom with walk-in shower. The Garden Bungalows are set back from the beach, with the Beach Villas in front of them situated along the beachline. The Bonthi Restaurant is the main restaurant for guests staying in these room types.
Koamas Beach Villas & Jacuzzi Beach Villas: Located along the southern side of the island are the Koamas Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Beach Villas. All villas have a spacious bedroom with four poster bed, a sitting area and are exquisitely furnished with wrought iron furniture. There is a furnished verandah to the front and to the rear an open-air bathroom with walk-in shower. In addition, the Jacuzzi Beach Villas have a larger garden space with a wooden deck area and Jacuzzi tub. Additional room facilities include hair-dryer, kimonos, and a 32" flat screen TV. The main restaurant allocated for the guests here is the Koamas Restaurant and guests have the option of using any other main restaurant with same day table reservations.
'O' Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Beach Villas: Located at the far north-east of the island is the 'O Resort'. All villas have a spacious bedroom with four poster bed, sitting area, dressing table, and a sofa with a teak coffee table. On the terrace there is a daybed with ceiling fan, and at the rear a romantic open-air bathroom with walk-in shower. The Jacuzzi Villas have a larger garden with a wooden deck area and Jacuzzi tub. Additional facilities include hair-dryer and kimonos, and a 32" flat screen TV. The main restaurant allocated for the guests here is the O Restaurant and guests have the option of using any other main restaurant with same day table reservations.
Sangu Jacuzzi Beach Villas & Jacuzzi Water Villas: Located to the far west of the island is the Sangu Resort. The Sangu Jacuzzi Beach villas are set along the beachline and have the same facilities as the 'O Resort' Jacuzzi Beach Villas. Stretching out over the turquoise lagoon and built on stilts are the beautiful Sangu Water Villas. These exclusive villas have a large, partly roofed terrace and sundeck area offering seclusion and stunning views over the lagoon. Private stairs lead down to the water below. The Villas have a very spacious bedroom with four poster bed and sitting area and are luxuriously furnished with solid teak furniture. Bathrooms have a walk-in shower and there is a Jacuzzi bath overlooking the turquoise lagoon. Additional facilities include hair-dryer and kimonos, and a 32" flat screen TV.
The Sangu Resort has a beautiful bar and restaurant in traditional Maldivian style and a separate check-in desk at the Sangu hospitality reception. Patrons in the Sangu Villas have the Sangu Restaurant as their allocated restaurant and also the option to eat in the other main restaurants on the island with same day table reservations.
Sultan Pool Villas: Located in the south-west of the island, and tucked away amidst rich tropical vegetation, are 11 Pool Villas offering total luxury and seclusion. Set within a walled and beautiful garden, each Pool Villa features a large living area and private swimming pool. The bedroom is furnished with a romantic four poster king size bed in teak wood and a large comfortable lazy chair and dressing table. There is also a separate dressing area with a walk-in wardrobe, a minibar and a wine cooler. The magnificent semi-open bathroom has twin ceramic wash basins, a large shaded walk-in rain shower, and a Jacuzzi bathtub. Room facilities also include espresso & coffee machine. The main restuarant for Pool Villa guests is at the Sangu Restaurant.
Restaurants & Bars
The four main restaurants on the island - the Bonthi, Koamas, 'O' and Sangu Restaurants - each serve a wonderful array of international and local cuisine on rotating theme nights chosen from around the world. In addition there are two A La Carte restaurants; Francos, serving Italian, and The Far East, serving Asian cuisine.
In addition to the exclusive bars in the Sangu and O Resorts there are several open bars situated around the island. The Babuna Bar is where most of the action takes place! This is the main bar and Kuredu’s customer relations staff organise fun theme evenings, games, quizzes and discos on a regular basis. The Akiri Bar is the smaller alternative for those who would like to enjoy a quiet romantic evening and, close to the swimming pool, there is the Pool Bar. There are also two Beach Bars - one at either end of the island - and, by the golf course, the popular Golf Bar.
Excursions & Entertainment
Kuredu offers many island excursions and cruises to local and uninhabited islands as well as to Kuredu's sister resort 'Komandoo'. Sports facilities include a fully equipped air-conditioned gym, floodlit astro turf tennis court, and a 6 hole golf course complete with full size driving range and large putting green. The island also has two swimming pools and the well equipped water sports centre offers windsurfing, catamaran sailing, waterskiing, knee boarding, kite surfing and parasailing.
The Duniye Spa: Kuredu has a wonderful spa where guests can enjoy a wide range of massages, beauty treatments and scrubs, and jacuzzi garden baths. The spa has a lovely relaxation area with it's own café.
Diving
Kuredu Prodivers is a Five Star PADI Instructor Development Centre offering a broad range of PADI courses from complete beginner up to instructor level. Facilities at the centre are superb with Nitrox diving, courses and equipment hire all available. For keen photographers they have E6 processing and an online digital video editing system.
The dive centre offers daily boat trips departing twice a day throughout the week. In addition some full day excursions are arranged. The centre tries to restrict the number of divers to 10-14 on each boat and they never send more than one of their boats to a dive site at the same time. Kuredu has an excellent house reef complete with it’s own wreck that can be dived from the shore during the day and at night.
Travel Information
If you are travelling through or from the UK we can arrange flights on either award winning Emirates Airlines or Sri Lankan Airlines at very competitive fares. Emirates have a flexible schedule of departures on most days of the week from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow via Dubai. Sri Lankan airlines offer direct flights from Heathrow on certain days of the week and flights via Colombo at other times. If you would like to arrange your own flights, we can quote you a rate for your island accommodation that excludes flights.
With such flexibility in air travel you can choose to stay on your selected island for any number of days you would like.
